JODY’S BRA is the quirky tale of 12-year-old Jody, a young girl whose budding bra size and body mass index put her under constant scrutiny from both her parents, and the popular girls at summer camp. When Jody’s larger-than-average bra is stolen and strung up for everyone to see, Jody must enlist her closest friends, as well as some unexpected allies, in order to recover her bra, regain her self-confidence, and save her otherwise doomed social-life. Jody’s Bra draws attention to the rituals and rites of passage accompanying adolescence, with emphasis on standing up to bullies and being comfortable with your own body. The film humorously highlights situations familiar to both children and adults, promoting ideas of friendship and self-identity. The director hopes that by allowing people to laugh, and reminding them that hardship passes, they might be able to see their current trials in the hopeful light of hindsight.
