We Are Black Women follows Shayla, Gloria and Chaltu as they create a documentary uncovering what it means to be black and a woman from their home of Portland, OR and their sensory home: the media. This documentary is the recording of their interviews and discussions the week of the shootings of unarmed black people in Minnesota and Louisiana and the shooting deaths of police officers in Dallas. Discussing with other Black women across the Portland landscape everything from Black Lives Matter to Black woman and male relationships and their hopes for the future, their documentary is a search for the answers. Featured in the documentary is Kboo radio host and producer Sekoynia Azikiwe of “Ear to the Streets” , Donna Maxey creator of “Race Talks” and Street interviews are conducted near PCC Cascade, the Salvation Army and the Rose Garden.
