Tara Johnson-Medinger / Executive Director
She is the Producer of two features, MY SUMMER AS A GOTH (2018) and CITY BABY (2013) and two documentaries ROCK N ROLL MAMAS (2013) & THE WINDING STREAM (Premiere SXSW 2014 / Theatrical Premiere 2015).
Tara is the Executive Director of The Portland Oregon Women’s Film Festival (POWFest) and founder of Sour Apple Productions. She served on the founding board of directors of the Women in Film Portland Chapter (WIF-PDX) for three years and was awarded the 2013 Service & Inspiration Award by the Oregon Media Production Association (OMPA). Before moving to Portland, she was a manager of affiliate promotion at the FOX Broadcasting Company in Los Angeles for six years. Through her production work as well as POWFest, Tara wants to promote and create new opportunities for women filmmakers not only in Oregon but world-wide.

Jane has worked in the film and television industry as an Art Director, Set Decorator, Buyer, and Dresser since 1983. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Jane relocated to Portland in 2001 to be with her husband, Joe. In the early nineties she was Vice President, then President of the film union, Association of Canadian Film Craftspeople(ACFC) and later became a member of IATSE 873 when it merged with ACFC. In Portland she is a member of IATSE 488. From 2010-2012 she served on the board of Women in Film-PDX (WIF-PDX), and since 2008 has participated in fundraising for Parkinson’s Resources of Oregon serving as the co-chair and chair the first four years of the their signature gala event Celebrate Hope. When she isn’t working at POWFest, Jane divides her time between volunteering, writing, buying for film and television, and event planning.

Nora Colie / House Manager & Volunteer Coordinator
Nora Colie recently returned to her hometown of Portland after many years away in Berlin and New York City, Nora is very happy to join the POWFest team, as she’s enthusiastic to work on any project that involves elevating and celebrating women, especially in film. She currently has joined forces with women’s empowerment groups in Portland reigniting the women’s movement in the current American climate. The past few years Nora has spent most her time working in documentary film, researching archival footage for TV commercials, and as a founding member of the artist collective the Mindpirates, collaborating on film and art projects, curating film screenings, performances, concerts, art exhibition and installations.

Jodi Darby is a media educator and producer specializing in experimental documentary video and photography. Her work has been exhibited and published internationally and she has worked with clients as diverse as the Pride Foundation, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp for Girls, Oregon Humanities, the Huffington Post and Rolling Stone magazine.
She has worked as Media Educator at Portland YouthBuilders, Youth Media Coordinator at Portland Community Media and currently teaches at Portland State University.
