Inertia_Still_04Overwhelmed with the world around her, a woman re-connects with her inner child through play on a swing set. Inertia is a contemporary circus film combining aerial choreography on trapeze and swings, rotoscope animation and experimental sound and visuals.
Inertia was made possible by the generous donation of Canada Council for the Arts. The film began it’s creation process in August 2014, and has been screened at the TAIS Showcase, dance: made in canada, The Contemporary Circus Arts Festival of Toronto, Visionaria (Italy), and will make its next appearance at the In the Soil festival.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR

Emily_Hughes_HeadshotEmily is a circus artist with a great passion for storytelling and developing characters through movement. In her exploration of the aerial world through the lens of a camera, Emily has co-created a number of experimental films, including Akasha, C is for Circus and benched.
