In Fort Greene, Brooklyn, in the loving home of the Moore family, 6 year-old Kera, discovers that she has tremendous powers. It all begins with her pet fish, Cinnamon, who Kera discovers lifeless in his fishbowl. As Kera mourns, her tears fall into the fishbowl. When she wakes up the next morning Cinnamon has miraculously come back to life! But Kera is different, and soon learns that with this power comes a terrible sacrifice. As Kera navigates the tenuous reality of death and grief we see Kera transform into something she could have never imagined. And when she meets Troy, a young boy, she might just have to face her biggest sacrifice yet.
